Union Soldiers Defeat Johnston at Shiloh!

The Battle of Shiloh was fought on the 6^th and 7^th of April in Tennessee. It was a great and terrible fight. Major General Ulysses S. Grant of the Union army defeated the rebel soldiers under Generals Albert Sidney Johnston and P.G.T. Beauregard. General Johnston was killed on the first day. Beauregard had to retreat on the second day when Union General Buell arrived with more troops.

Tens of thousands died in the battle.
